Amazing Sounds for A Very Low Price

Posted

Pros: Great Mids, Clear Sound, Good Staging, Inexpensive

Cons: Very Highs Are Weak, Sound Quality Depends on Source Quality

Koss has made some snazzy headphones. These fit right into the group of headphones recommended for their quality. Being in Milwaukee, I've tried many of Koss's products from their low end ear buds to the Porta-Pros. These are the first "high-end" headphones by them that I've tried for an extended length of time. So far, I'm very impressed. My initial impression is that they do a great job bringing out the vocals and melody of the music as well as the weapon and shouts in games. I received these headphones as a gift and have been extensively using them for music and gaming. These have been solely used via my computer, which only uses onboard sound. I do not use a DAC or amp that's...

Guns, Guns, and a Plasma Sword: A Recipe for Awesome

Posted

Pros: Detailed Graphics, Varied Gameplay, Replayable, Improved PC Elements, Lots of Guns

Cons: Inappropriate Lag, Confusing changes from the first game

The return to Pandora has fulfilled the hope of the fans. Borderlands 2 is a fun and exciting installment to the franchise, as well as being an excellent FPS in its own right. In this review, I will primarily give first impressions for people trying to decide if it is worthwhile. I've played roughly 9 hours so far, spread across three characters (Axton, Salvador, and Zero) all of which have their Action Skill. As of now, I intend to revisit this review after I play through the initial story. The general mechanics of the previous game have stayed the same. The game has a heart of an FPS while wearing the garb of an RPG. The game play is the standard shoot and fight, much like every other...

A Fond Memory Reprised

Posted

Pros: Simple Interface, Classic Gameplay, Good Story and High Level of Customizability

Cons: Easier Game than Previous Installments, Too Little Graphical Complexity

I have only played a bit, through the first two Acts and with only two classes (Monk [Hard Core] and Witch Doctor), that caveat aside I'll give my intial impressions. [As of 5/17/2012] The story is engaging and exciting, filled with clever twists and action. This should be not a surprise as Blizzard has a well developed reputation for writing. And in Diablo III all we find is greatness, so let's move on. This game is very clearly a Diablo game. Not only does it keep the epic storytelling established in the first two games, it also keeps an identical playstyle; frantic clicking, fixed camera angle, exploration encouragement and piles of loot are all nostagically present. In other words,...

A Computer Case For All Your Needs

Posted

Pros: Lots of Space, Good Cable Management, Adaptable Internals, Can support a large radiator

Cons: Plastic Front, Can't Remove Front Filter, Fan Compatability Issues

Overall, this case is amazing and I recommend it to everyone who is looking for a large case with great airflow. I'll leave the description of the case to other reviewers who've done a great job of it so far. Insteand, I'm going to focus on some negative aspects that haven't been pointed out so far. The great part about this case is the amount of space that is available for use. Not only can you use the largest of heatsinks available, but you can also change to a complicated radiator setup with no modification. The fact that the top can support 240mm with room to spare for 140mm radiators on the back and bottom of makes this case very flexible in regards to cooling options. The one sad...

A Decent Headset, But With a Flaw

Posted

Pros: Large Ear Cups, 50mm Audio Drivers, Clear Microphone, Long Audio Cable

Cons: Poor Bass Response, Heavy

It is billed for "Intensive Gaming with Audiophile Quality", this is not true. It is definiately geared towards gamers and is great for that purpose. Listening to music however is a different story. First the good things. I am no audiophile, but it appears to have good high and mid range reproduction. I can tell that the large drivers are making a difference when compaired to my girlfriend's headset in that the sound is clear and crisp. There is no distortion to speak of and I can pick out all the various sounds easily. The large ear cups fit around my large ears very comfortably. Further the cups blockout a lot of background noise; which is great as they are doing construction outside...

An Excellent Edition to ES Universe

Posted

Pros: Large world that pulls you in, lots of variety

Cons: Awful Crossfire Support

The game is simply awesome. I've played several of the Elder Scrolls games and this is one of the better ones. I'm not quite sure if the story is as great as Morrowind, but it is far more enjoyable than Oblivion. The quests are interesting and diverse. My only complaint is that a lot of the quest lines seem a little short. Some of them involve lots of epic events that seem to happen a little too quickly. However, this does not mean that it is a short game, nor that the quests aren't fun.
