2K Games Responds to Bioshock Controversy - Overclock.net

2K games will now be allowing games to be installed on five separate machines , allowing the game to be reinstalled an additional 5 more times per machine. You can also swap your CD key from one machine to another if need be.

Other updates to be released in the upcoming patch include widescreen support.

Still no comment on the alleged rootkit..

It is good news yes, but the best solution would be to remove the SecuRom ****. Hopefully this progresses that decision.

well at least they're responding to that issue quickly. i may pick up the game, but i don't have time to play much of anything these days T-T

agreed. securom is honestly a bit too pervasive and annoying. had to deal w/ false "NO YOU CAN'T PLAY" if only because i ran vritual drives so i don't have to handle and possible scratch up my game discs -_-

Did bioshock give you that because you had virtual drives?

I run daemon tools all the time and I didn't get that.

If anything, SecuRom has dissuaded most people from purchasing this game, hearing all the horror stories..

What I find funny about this entire situation is that it IS illegal to install one copy of a game on more than one machine. That is the equivalent to file sharing or letting a friend install. When you purchase a game you agree to a one copy per PC committal.

However, it SHOULD be completely legal to install and reinstall the game on that computer as many times as you please.

It's all backwards lol.
