I think their 360's aren't failing because of Halo3, its because they own a faluty machine and they haven't used it as much and now their playing a few hours of Halo and its causing them to fail, When any game would have caused it...

Something strikes me as odd about this... I think there's more to it than meets the eye in terms of people's consoles failing. Perhaps it's because they're playing an intensive game for several hours on end with a system that is known to have a design flaw? I don't think it's the game, I think it's how long people are playing it. Just speculation, but it doesn't make sense for a game to cause this.

Those dust-filled Xbox's that have sat for a few weeks/months doing nothing are just picked up and played for extended gaming sessions. And people wonder why they get RRoD's... I clean my PC out at least every 6 months, top to bottom. I can't believe MS built a system like that and thought so little about the abuse that the everyday noob will give it. The only computer component I have *ever* had fail on me (*touches wood*) is a couple of hard drives that I used in an external caddy. I now run any hard drive with at least some sort of active cooling. A 360 is like a car expected to run for 50,000 miles without being serviced or even changing the oil. I would love to know the official number of times a 360 is repaired per sale.

Well I got the RROD after playing for a hour and a half on Halo 3 but then i started to play on my dads system and it has worked just fine.I played it online form 11:00pm to 6:00am without any problems and have been for the last three days.By the way i work a nigh shift and it was a day off thats why i was up so late.I dont see how M$ could have started to sell the system with out knowing or without doing hours and hours of testing like the should have and still not know about this big problem.I love my 360 and would take it over a PS3 any day but if PS3 had half the good games xbox360 does and Halo 3 i would by one then. But this is the 4th time Im sending mine back and I should have never needed to send it in once.Nor should I have to teat it speacaly just to keep it runing i just set up my PS2 and xbox when I got then and I have never had a problem with ether of them in any of the places that i put them in or had them runing. If the 360 was made half as good as some of the crapy HP computer systems they probley would have never had this problem in the first place.

Edit: I also got Halo 3, and I don't know if it is a problem with the game, or actually my console was flawed from the beginning. I played it here and there the first 2 days. Then I got a read error. Mind you, there are no scratches on the disc. The disc then appeared to work fine. I went to "Recover my Gamertag" for live (previously cancelled) and get an error about it. I found only a few people who had this error when recovering their tag. Turns out it's a hardware issue and I have to send my XBox in for repairs now >.<

This is really depressing, you have the company with the most money to burn, supposelvly the best hardware and they have nothing but problems.
Im not the kind of guy that is ever really a fanboy but man, I am feeling better about going PS3.

My brother and I both had launch 360s that would overheat constantly. I did the ol' arctic silver upgrade and put heatsinks on the RAM chips. We have never had a problem since.
