IGN gave it a 7.5, which is a good solid score. This is exactly why moro...er... n00bs shouldn't be allowed to post news.

Lol, this doesn't mean anything to me at all. Sometimes IGNs reviews are good, sometimes they're not...
Like others have pointed out, other sites have given AC a MUCH higher rating. I will be at the store tomorrow, right after I get out of my last class...and will literally play it until I collapse. I am looking forward to this more then I was looking forward to Halo3...

Judging on the title of this thread, I assumed you had played the game yourself and drawn your own conclusion. Great news post, way to go.

No game will ever be the greatest because, everyone will have there likes and dislikes. Its all opinion, so dont let IGN ruin your view on Assassins Creed or any other game that attracts you.

Reviews in general only help me when they describe the game (which IGN did more than adequately in this case) rather than assigning values to each aspect of the game which is obviously based heavily on personal opinion (ie. Repetitive mission structure = -0.7). Review scores are weighted heavily by the reviewers personal tastes, I read the review and assign my own "values" to the areas of the game that were described.
A perfect example of this is Morrowind (and to a lesser extent, Oblivion); I adore the game, its one of my all time favorites because I place huge value on the deep back-story, artistic design and truly open gameplay. Is it flawed? Of course it is! The combat is abysmal and many individual aspects of the gameplay are undeveloped or horribly overpowered, but I can forgive those things after taking the rest of the game into account. A reviewer may feel the same, but seems to be required by law to adhere to a rating system that assigns each gameplay element a value and aggregates them into an unintuitive numeric value that offers very little to help most people. I like in depth reviews, and IGN has done a good job of highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of the game, which I think is what a review should do. Based on what I've read and seen in their review, I think I can forgive the game its flaws on the merits of the parkour gameplay and visual style. Someone else may feel differently after reading the same review, but isn't that what a review should be doing? Give us the facts and let us decide how to weight them. Mark Wilson over at Kotaku did an interesting feature about game reviews, you should check it out. And the reviewers response to it.

This is disappointing indeed, however, I have not given up hope in this game...not until I get my hands on it.

You can't go by one review, let alone someone else's ideas.
Here are ALL of the reviews for it: http://www.metacritic.com/games/plat...assassinscreed I am still watering from the mouth after watching videos and stuff, i can't wait til tomorrow afternoon to get it!!! Also can you please rephrase the title since it doesn't "suck," it is "good" according to their review. All the "bad" reviews point out repetition but i can see myself doing each mission differently and having a blast bum rushing one kill and then sneaking for the next. I can't freaking wait!!!! AHHHH i'm gonna freeze myself, so unfreeze me when it comes out!
