Nope, more advanced engines came out, like, twice, and they scrapped the work they did and tried to rework it on a newer game engine.

Then they just decided to take it easy for a good while and say it'll be done when it's done.

As for me, however, I don't care when they finish it, I thought duke nukem was fun, and I have other games that entertain me in the meantime while they finish the game up. They actually were going to be given a bonus or something from I think Activision if they got it out by christmas of last year, or the year before or something, and 3DRealms turned it down.

I think the main problem with DNF is they are going to have no excuse for it not being the best game ever made.

Sounds like lack of confidence to me.

What other projects have 3D Realms done? How in the hell can they stay afloat??

But... But... Then how will the people that seem to have the judgment abilities of an average ten year old be able to decide if they like something or not? Baseless assumptions are all they can do...

Anyways, let's just see what happens.

Hey, I almost thought this was a really intelligent post. Then I realized all FPS's have the same bland, boring, shoot-the-baddies, linear, [insert FPS characteristic because I could go on forever], and graphics enhancements are the only things that make them stand out from competitors these days. Save none. Not even F.E.A.R.

Actually I agree. At this point they should have the most matured story line ever. I mean you have to expect everything is perfect, or it just wouldn't have been a product worth redoing so many times. That was the deal with Starcraft: Ghost. It was highly anticipated, it just wasn't that good of an idea and Blizzard knew it.

Honestly, I think I'd rather play through a game that simulates the creation of Duke Nukem Forever rather than the actual game itself. I imagine it must have been painstakingly intense scrapping the project and redoing it 3 times.
