I havent played Deus ex in years. I may just reinstall now that you all got me thinking about it lol. Its an FPS and an RPG. As you move through the game you get skill points to upgrade your character, and the inventory is very RPG-ish

Seemed like too much of a ripoff off of System Shock 2 for me to get it. By the time it came out (about half a year after SS2) my FPS/RPG hybrid demand was filled, so i never bothered. I still might look into getting this one however.

I played Deus Ex 2 and I returned it to the store because it was a buggy piece of ****ty with ****ty game performance, ****ty AI, ****ty handling and just about ****ty everything else that I could find in the first hour of play.

Maybe I am missing something here? Did later patches make it that much better, or was the AI, performance and FPS feel always ****ty? I suppose I may not have gotten to what truly made the game good. That is, if it was good at all.

Gamespy gave it 4.5 stars so it can't have been that bad. Anyone wanna tell me why they thought it was good?

I never played Deus ex 2, and i didnt hear any particularly great reviews... The original is the one to go for, but mind you it came out in 2000

Yeah, I just got done reading the gamespy review and it sounds like it came from a real Deus Ex fanboy. And my initial impressions were correct. ****ty performance, ****ty FPS aspects and ****ty AI.

I'll try Deus Ex 3... when it's free.

You know, every time someone mentions Deus Ex, someone reinstalls it.

I found deus ex 2 a little long winded. I can see why its a great game. That was years ago though. Id probably have the patience for it now.

I've played both of them and thought both were good games. Dues Ex 2 also ran ok with a 9800pro for me near when it was released. I thought it was cool cause it was the first time I saw any sort of physics in the games(that I can remember). Like throwing barrels at groups of people and then shooting it to blow them all up. Btw I like how people with *****y computers that can't run a game like to log on and write a bunch of stupid *****y stuff. Ignore the *****y post cause everyone else in the thread has liked the game.

I just cleaned out our office and got new furniture and I came across my copy of the first, never played #2. The first was very cool and ahead of the curve for the day...you could play either Doom run'em-&-gun'em or sneaky stealth style or any mix thereof. Good time!
