Default [Gamasutra]Bethesda Snags MMOG Hero Engine

Quote:
imutronics announced today that ZeniMax Online Studios has licensed the Simutronics HeroEngine, the company's MMO development platform, for an unannounced project currently beginning development.

this is just a cheap way of making money. I don't mind the idea of MMO, but the money factor is a massive deterrent. I don't know why everyone wants a game to be multiplayer. I wonder how much blizzard must have made from World of Warcraft?, my guess is a few billion dollars.

Well sadly, the computer industry isn't as profitable as we would like to believe, at least for the guys actually doing the work.

You know there are free MMOG's.

why that would be so sweet. The whole problem with mmos is that they don't require skill, it's all about time played. Now a great innovative company like bethesda could really make a sweet game and change he state of mmos.

About time, i just hope they dont make it as stupidly easy like WOW or similar.

Make it hard, tough, difficult and impossible so it takes skills and effort rather than just walking places to copmplete quests and grinding.

Blizzard certainly didn't made a few billion dollars ...

And the money that was won by WoW , is Vivendis , not Blizzards

9,000,000 players x $15 per month = 135 million per month why not a few billion?
