Wait a second, do i understand correctly? ubisoft paid Tom Clancy what looks like 20 million euros, for his name? Not a bad move for ubisoft.

Wow...i hope Splinter Cell doesn't go down hill, they are my favorite set of games. But they will more than likely be awesome as usual.

The funny thing is, his books are awesome. But it isn't even him who writes the damn things anyways. Anything that has the Tom Clancy name on it, has nothing to do with the guy.

He just got rich off nothing. Why can't i do that

Since he's sold out the Tom Clancy name I guess we wont see any more books that have Tom Clancy on them, unless they're:
A) Written by him and then published/approved by Ubisoft
B) Written/published by Ubisoft

Oh well, guess he'll just have to think up another pen name to make another 20 million

funny really, how much a name is worth.

tom clancy has never appeared in his games or really had much atall to do with them. infact its just a name on the cover. I'm really not surprised that ubisoft have done this because i would've expected them to ditch the tom clancy name in favour of their own franchise years ago.
