No, what's killing PC gaming is EA. EA buys up developers left and right, turns their good games into crap, and then when nobody buys their crap games they blame it on piracy. And then they take all their games and move them over to console because its cheaper to develop for fewer platforms, so they start cutting PCs out of the loop.
Well I certainly won't deny that, EA is a big factor with all the branchs it has under its belt now.

Yes piracy has always been a factor but due to the increased knowledge and the simpleness of torrents it is a bit more wide spread. Come on even a 6 year old can find and get any game they want with a couple hours and be playing it now.

And it's the major titles that are getting hit. The way I look at it is since piracy has evolved the devs and pubs have increased DRMs and other abilities to try and counter piracy. That in turn has generated higher r&d increasing final cost of the product and turning potential buyers into no buyers.

I guess the best way to say it is besides the companies that started in PC gaming most all new companies look towards consoles for their product leaving us with ports. Some new blood in the PC area would be nice too every now and again.

Now I'm not saying it is the sole factor but you can't discount the weight it brings to the table now a days.

While i am sure there are a lot of people in the field doing what they do for the love of it, but as a whole the company is in it for the money. There have been alot of companies bought by EA that have been massively successful on there own.. they have to be offering something over the top.

Pretty crappy formula they use to come to their numbers. Quite pathetic in my personal opinion.

If you take two months and average out over 12 to get your numbers, than you fail. I should do that the next time I go for a loan and see how it works.

The billion-dollar figure includes three categories: MMO, casual and console revenues.
Wait what? I thought this was for PC gaming, as in not on consoles

I also agree with fuzzynutz, why not take the data from the full year, why stick to extrapolations?

But the reason for all the b&^%hing is because yea we know there will always be games on pc. Of course pc gaming for the laymen isn't dieing.

The problem is the big devs not doing pc exclusives. Some ports are ok and they do a decent job at them but most are horrid. Lacking pc specific controls and limiting options for graphics and game abilities.

That is what piracy is killing. There is a difference and if you are a true PC gamer then you know that.

But yea, other than that. This is good news, maybe some will not be so weary of the pc market and jump in with a new title they wouldn't have made before.
I don't even think piracy is causing this move to cross-platform games (their fancy gay name for developing a console game and porting it to PC) it's just because they are lazy bastards and are into the easy money.
