Oh yeah...cause Hollywood is out of ideas.
Only good one I can think of is Silent Hill, that movie owned.

yeah thats true. when i hear of games like this being made into movies, the first thing that pops into my head is, a certain director is after bragging rights amongst gamers.

im still keen for this movie since the game was so awesome...but i dunno if they could ever match the atmosphere of the video game.

Gore Verbinski is a great director. There isn't a master list that ranks every director based on how good they are. Verbinski's work with Pirates will definitely help make the movie an excellent adaptation of the game.

lol super mario was great when i was like 5 or 6, whenever it came out. mortal kombat still owns today. i thought final fantasy spirits within was an awesome movie, but i never played the games so to me it was simply a good movie.

i was even a fan of DOA Dead or Alive. but only coz the chicks were bloody hot.

Resident Evil was awesome, all 3 were. Bloodrayne, yeah i could watch her sex scene more than a few times, awesome rack. Tomb Raider wasnt THAT bad. and MK: Annihilation was cool, simply coz it was Mortal Kombat. Alone in the Dark is the worst movie i ever tried to watch.

im surprised they didnt have a dig at AvP and its sequel. awesome movies IMO, but worst stories ever haha. i just loved em coz im a huge Aliens/Predator fan and would love anything made involving them.

i don't think video games make lousy movies, but they do when they use a lousy director like all previous movies that where based on games.
i really dont think that bioshock will make a great or even good movie ...as was said you cant really replicate the feelings that you got when you played the game, or atleast it will be a very hard task to achieve.

i know i will get flamed for saying this but the halo and half life series would make good movies, both have a expansive story universe's that can be explored without the difficulty that bioshock will present.

one thing i know for sure is that GAMES based on movies are VERY RARELY even slightly good. a few exceptions ofcourse

Final Fantasy was great! I have the DVD. It wasn't supposed to have anything to do with the games though.

Doom was decent but way off. At least it wasn't a cheese fest.

I also somewhat liked tomb raider.

Resident Evil was EXCELLENT. I still love seeing that movie. The second one was good too. I haven't seen the 3rd one.
