Well, I would say Video games occupy time. If there weren't video games, think of all the free time people would have to kill some other way. TBH, I think kids would look for a thrill some other way and the crime rate would go up if anything.

video games teach me how to steal, how to kill people AND get away with it, what best weapon to use when being comfronted by more than one assailant, how to fire a weapon as long as it has two clickable buttons for my right handfingers and a cursor in front of my eyes. video games teach me how to swear and abuse artificial intelligence. i also learnt that as long as i wear some good body armour a grenade going off at my feet might not kill me. a headshot doesnt always mean a headshot. if i get shot by big rifle in the stomach, theres a chance i will only lose about 60% of my health and live to fight on. if i walk over a first aid kit, i will magically heal. games are very educational.

BUT articles like this teach me how friggin stupid some people are

The uproar is because of the perceived audience of such games. "Adults" can watch love scenes, kids who play video games shouldn't be exposed. We have the problem of perception by which people who didn't grow up with games think that only small children play them. They simply don't grasp the concept.

No, I dont see how they have to teach me anything. My parents dont give a damn what game I play as long as I'm getting good grades and on my way to getting my degree. I also have to stay out of trouble, but that's not really a problem for me.

I copied one of the "History" article things for a speech in grade 7. I spent like an hour copying it. I would have never had a speech without Age of Empires 2.
