We plugged in our handy Xbox 360 wired controller for some bloody Devil May Cry 4 action this week; keyboard controls are supported but this game is simply way too fast.

First, there are two new modes. Turbo mode speeds up the action so you'll be sure to develop some calluses on your thumbs as you unleash combos at a ferocious pace--as if DMC4 wasn't already fast enough. The Legendary Dark Knight mode will put your gaming rig to the test because it will up the enemy count, sometimes to more than 100 foes onscreen, so be sure to sharpen your sword. Also, enemies will be located in different areas than the console version, which is a simple change of pace for those who have played DMC4 before, and a good touch if not exactly revolutionary. If your rig is struggling with all of the blood and gore, you can of course customize your graphics settings within the game or try out the new benchmark testing, a series of boss fights that test your rig to see if it's up to the challenge.

Visually, DMC4 looks amazing. The lighting and textures improve on the game's console counterparts, and it takes advantage of the PC platform. The sweeping theatrical cutscenes run at 120 frames per second, which puts the 30fps scenes in the console version to shame. Plus, you can play it in either DirectX 9 or 10. Even though you had to wait until now to play DMC4 on the PC, kudos to Capcom for giving the PC version exclusive content and features that the platform deserves (and for only $39.99). DMC4 is slated to hit stores this July, but you can try it for yourself by downloading the demo here.

I have to take my hat off to Capcom. The DMC3 port was an utter failure. This port has got to be the best console to PC port I've ever seen. And that's just speaking from the demo experience. This game is so god damn well coded and optmized, that on DX10 I get a good 180-200 FPS on the benchmark @ 1600x1050 resolution with everything maxed. It's absolutely amazing.

The one draw back to DMC4 is it's shadows. It's game engine just is horrible with shadows in the console version. It's seem to improved on the PC version judging from the becnhmark, but not a whole lot.

I can't wait for this one even though I've ripped 100% through DMC4 all the way through Dante Must die mode and the above modes.

i'll be grabbing this game straight up. loved the demo on PS3 and PC. never wanted to buy it, but it just looks so good on PC in DX10, and runs even better.

dmc's never felt quiet right on PC's for me.

consoles are best for combat games imo

I have DMC3 on my pc and i love it! Still some places it just get on my nerves(look up Yahtzees opinion on jrpg's)

I'm definitely looking forward to DMC4, the demo and benchmark were amazing and the game plays phenomenally with a logitech rumble pad.

Pretty cool..... Wonder how its gonna run on my PC!... Considering I can't put any money in the case for a long time

you can download the PC benchmark and it will tell you how it will run, I got it from fileshack:

From some of the results people posted, you should do fine. Post back with your results but as the original post states, the game is very optimized and runs great.
