so does this mean that it's not going to look nearly as good as the regular crysis? or that it's just more well optimized?

I agree! Stop whinging if your comp can't play it at max. I've read the same article like three times now. The final specs will be final when the game is released so I'm not putting too much weight on the $600 barebone they had.

My system ran Crysis 1024*768 all Medium @<16 fps all times. 8600GT is better then 7600GT + some optimization i don't see why 8660GT cant run this game on 1024*768 all High because if it doesn't that means they failed again.

That may have been true a while ago, but DX has completely eclipsed OpenGL. The only reason to ever use OpenGL now is if they are making an OSX or Linux port.

*sarcasm*
You can play Warhead on high with an 8600GT, but they are also introducing, in addition to Very High, Very Very High, Extremely High, and You're finally able to play this old game High.
*endsarcasm*

I never though Crysis looked that good anyway. It was mostly shaders and post processing that made it look good. Without that it looks just like Far Cry, which an 8600GT can easily max.

Either they're lying, or when I get to the settings screen I will see this, in order from lowest quality to highest.

"(HIGH) (ULTRA HIGH) (TRI SLI W/ GTX 280 HIGH) (4 4870's IN QUAD FIRE HIGH)"
