Default [VG]UT3 PS3 vs Xbox360

Yeah not another one of these threads, but hey its news and its a good comparison. Especially for people looking to buy an Xbox 360 or a PS3. You can actually see the difference between the two Unreal Tournaments. The 360 has more saturation, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your tastes. But I still prefer my computer version better!

The only difference i could tell was the ps3 looked brighter which could be for a number of reasons. If there are differences they are to little for me to care lol.

Now build a PC for the same price of a PS3 (including the price for the mandated HDCP compliant TV, and the monitor for the PC) and run UT3 on that alongside. It might make a few fanboys cry, but other than that.. All in the interest of science, right?

I couldn't tell enough of a difference to say that graphics debates between the two consoles are worth having. If they weren't labeled, I wouldn't have been able to tell which is which.

I would describe it as a visual difference, not a graphics difference. Because when I think of comparing the graphics, I think of the quality of the rendering I see on the screen. Which in this video, I see no difference. But I do say a visual difference because, as stated before, the PS3 one looks a slight bit brighter than the 360 version, which isn't a big deal and doesn't make one look better than the other.

Yeah. On an actual TV, not running side by side, you couldn't tell a difference.

If by saturated you mean that the 360 version's color pallet is richer/more vibrant, then yes. But the PS3 version's brightness was too high.

I noticed environmental effects in the 360 version that weren't in the PS3 version:
- 360 version had better lighting, particularly when concerning shadow details but that could be due to the PS3 version being too bright
- 360 version had snow, and the PS3 version did not

Can you use a mouse/KB with the 360 version as you can with the PS3?

I agree, nobody is going to notice the difference while playing, especially without a side to side comparison.

I think that's only on the ps3 version.
