the gold limit is 2^31 which equals 2,147,483,648 so 1 million gold can be had...

I think i remember reading somewhere that someone actually hit the 2.1 million gold limit...

EDIT:

After doing some reading, wow programmers do use the 2^31 law of a 32bit app, but apply it a little differently.

the 214,748 part is gold, then the next 2 numbers 36 represents the silver, then the last 2 numbers 48, are for the copper...
