I think theyre becoming more noobified & easy honestly.
Even the Aladdin game for super nintendo used to be tough. I think games should always have the 'easy' mode but i think as far as 'normal/medium' goes they should be very challenging even for the seasoned gamer. Since they have save games nowawdays, then dieng isnt really all that bad like it used to be. I miss the days of playing a game all day in hopes of one day beating it. How good it used to feel to be on the LAST level of a video game. Nowadays its just obvious that if you want to beat a game, you can. Most of the time in one night. ![]()

No WAY they're becoming more difficult. NES games were brutal compared to games nowadays. You couldn't save your game....but sometimes they would let you track progress by using a really long alphanumeric key.

I'd have to say they're right where they should be. Some have an ease of use interface, and others have a learn to love it interface. While considering that, you also want to look at what type of game it is, what you need to do, and whether or not the devs developed it in such a fashion that almost everyone but them could play it, too. So, considering all that, I'd say that the great games all came from a solid concept of you do what you interpret, which makes the game as difficult as it is perceived. A lot of that depends on the user, and the bias is set by people who would make remarks upon the games themselves. It's all in the eye of the beholder, but there have been exceptions to the rule.

Games, harder... lol. They obviously completely forgot about the old days where save was non-existent.

I agree with you on that. But compare oldschool NFS with todays GRID. GRID is way harder.

i don't think the ability to save or not has anything to do with a game's actual difficult in regards to AI and how the tasks were presented...all it did was make it tedious.

To be honest, I think that newer games are way to easy.
