Default [joystiq] id software and Electronic Arts form partnership

First Actiblizzion and now idEA?

Quote:
Id Software creator John Carmack just announced at Electronic Arts' press conference that it has partnered with the publisher. The Quake and Doom creator has long used Activision as a publisher, but we wonder if things got bitter after the travesty that was Quake Wars console ports. Id and EA? What a great ... idea?

I hope they choke on their less than satisfying game catalog, lack of customer support, and horrible merger. iD could've done it alone. EA just sucks worse now. Gah! I quit life. What's next after Quake Live? Sims 3: "Don't Hurt Me"?

iDEA is very clever.

I can't decide if this will make EA better or worse.

New Rage game by iD doesn't look like anything special to me either.

Maybe carmack can teach the very talented programmers currently working for EA how to make some games with decent netcode.

I wonder if this means that we will start seeing Linux-native ports from EA Games.
I know that's a lot of high hopes, but that would be sweet for the Linux community.

WTH. Is EA a friggin black hole that nothing can escape? What does that leave that has no connection with EA? I swore about a year ago that EA would never see another dime of my money and I plan on keeping that promise to myself.
