Business-like and gaming shouldn't go together. When I think of games, I think of fun. Not a 3 hour business meeting. (Of course that goes on behind the scenes) But it shouldn't be that way in the eyes of the public.

E3 is now junk. BOYCOTT it.
I've followed a few review sites covering it. What a bore and time actually wasted. It's not even worth skimming the summary lines in the articles.

It's bad when one single company like Acti-Blizzard can generate more buzz with their own "gaming summit" than all of E3. I said it before, companies should just do their own thing.

I liked the old E3 when they actually wanted people to attend but whatever they do is up to them. The reason they slashed the guest list though is because E3 is now aired on G4TV and Spike TV and they have viewers than attendee's but whatever floats their boat. The last time I followed it was back before 2002 and that will be the last time I follow it ever.

I enjoy having 1 event where lots of major things are announced for the gaming world. for 1 it gives gamers one specific point to look forward to. If all the companies just announced all there stuff at random times it might be hard to follow, E3 is easy. As for if we need it at all, i'd say yes for the same reason above, and because as said before, CES =/= gaming, nor should it. The game industry is a big boy and can have it's own event.

It just goes to show you what happens when an industry marketing/think tank gets together. If anyone is reading this and you are in marketing, please, do us all a favor and just kill yourself. Thank you

Its usefull, just not really all that usefull anymore. When companies have their own summits and conventions they are ridding the need of events like E3 and Leipzig, but I havent decided which I prefer, individual industry events to make announcments or these week long moster conventions.

Without the old E3, no, we don't need it.
They "canceled" it the year before I turned 18 too, which was right before my uncle (he owns some random gaming company in Thailand and is always at E3) could have gotten me in. Shame.
