Well, I meant the good ports, like Mass Effect. It's a nice game and all but it's not exactly stretching the legs of a recent, decent PC at all.

Those that you mentioned are useless, ****ty ports, an entirely different category altogether.

The PS3 has what amounts to a 7800GTX with a new bus in it. How can you expect a machine with hardware specs finalized in 2004 or 2005 to have a GPU on the level of an 8800GTX?

Good for them, there is more money in consoles. And with the recent attitude of PC Gamers it doesn't surprise me.

PC Gamers in general only have themselves to blame for this sorry state of affairs. If I was a business I would be doing the exact same thing.

I can't blame them for making for consoles at all. It's an obvious move and a sure shot money maker. But they could at least write the games on a PC version and port them to the console, instead of it being the other way around.

I read Cliff B (what a knob he is) talking about this sort of stuff. And he was basically saying it's easier to write for the consoles, but they do it all on a PC anyway. It was rather confusing but in the end I just thought the above. It's like the devs are cutting off their noses to spite their face and in the end PC gamers end up doing the same thing. Nasty catch 22 situation because as a developer right now (if I was) I wouldn't want to take the risk and put a lot of effort into the PC version of my game to try and make a show of effort, for it to be ill-received and *****ed about.

Best last PC game I played that topped the console versions was Medal of Honor Airborne. The 360 version was slow and sluggish and the PC version is fantastic. This is the way it should be, imho.

Consoles ruined Elder Scrolls and a few more of my favorites.

Consoles must die

In all seriousness though, it really does suck for PC gamers that most new games are being created for consoles first. I can understand that consoles are where the money is at, it just sucks.

If devs would release some decent PC games maybe we would have a fighting chance. How in the hell do you expect people to buy ports on PC and be happy with them. For this reason alone I am very careful about which new games I buy.
