That pre-order initiative has now been extended to include the standard version of the MMO, with closed beta players receiving open beta access on September 7 as well.

I was praying to god they would open up the Open Beta this week, but I was way off. I guess I'm going to have to twiddle my thumbs for another two weeks!

Guaranteed the game won't be ready for release on the 18th.

yeah, cause that means open beta is only open for 1 week or less, and then comes head start =/. Either that or that's the way Mythic wants it.

either way I'll be playing War then.

yeah, open beta beta doesn't exist anymore just look at Age of Conan they made you pay for a stupid subscription to play the open beta(witch wasn't that much only 20lvl)

i am in beta currently and the game is very polished, more so than AOC 3months after release. I think mythic is basically giving the pre order open beta at sept 7th more for a stress test for their servers so that they can work out the issues with that for their launch. Although i do forsee some initial release growing pains that all MMO's suffer, but nothing to the extent of FunCom's failure of AOC.

I was hearing something about the files being available today, but now I guess that doesn't matter, as the open beta won't be available for 3 or so more weeks.

I'm in the euro beta aswell (at this point dont know if NDA is still up but who cares:P) and the game is solid and really enjoyable. Agreed on more smooth than AoC after release!

Mythic did a pretty good job of the game and EA was actually VERY good in supporting them towards the completion. The "open" beta was said that it will be a stress test on the servers. They don't want any more gameplay testing as far as i see.

Looking foward to see you guys in game!

PVP(RVR) is really enjoyable, mythic did very well on that, took part of DAOC.
