I will never understand the thinking behind "get used to it." Why should I? They want my money, as the customer it's on my terms, that's how this whole commerce thing is supposed to work. The customer is the one that's supposed to be right, WE have the power of the pocketbook. You buy this game in it's currently announced form, you are rewarding them for treating you shabbily. Good luck with that.

As for me? I'm playing Mafia(2001). My wheel works with it fine. I expect that the sequel to it will also and I can't wait to buy it.

I personally could careless. I love PC gaming, but i'm getting a 60GB 360 for christmas/birthday (since mine's the 23rd) and i'll be able to game flexibly without being out in the cold for any game. But I seriously never have and don't want to play a GTA game with a wheel. Using a wheel for GTA games period? i'm sorry, not something i'm even visualizing as a thought. And who said I was to buy it? For all you know, I've been downloading games since 2005 and bought few that i've liked which is partially true, cause hey, i'm 15 and there's few games I like which I would actually spend money on. Don't like it, delete, but aside from that. It's the same, freakin' game. That's like buying the Legendary of Halo. You paid 100+ bucks for the game, and a helmet and all that crap, but what are you really using? The game. The same game that is in the regular and limited editions. See, now you, you probably have bought more games in your life than I have. That's why you think they 'treat you shabbily'.

As for me? I actually try my games before I buy. Borrow, rent, download, whatever. But at least it's not like spending 40-50 bucks, don't like the game and cry and complain about it. Heh, a perfect example for me would be Half Life 2. A friend of mine hyped it up so much, said it had cutting edge visuals, so I got it free in some nVidia-Steam thing, deleted it the same day. At least I didn't buy it :P

And Consoles are PCs that have been limited by the OS, or operating platform that has been placed upon it so it's good and only good for the thing it's advertised for, along with minor additions like DVD playing and music which would make it closer to a PC. So as far as i'm concerned, it's no longer 'Console Exclusive' ect, it's just 'microsoft/sony/nintendo exclusive'. Cause there's no way you're telling me that something that uses multiple cores/cpus, and a gpu that supports a high resolution can't be similar to what a PC can deliver, only downscaled some.

Guys, calm down! PC gamers don't get leftovers. Think of consoles as beta-testers and the PC version as the final product, that has ben waxed and polished to perfection.

Right on with that. Being able to play GTA 4 with AA/AF enabled and high resolutions is a big plus for the PC version.

It's like - no one can have an opinion on OCN anymore without people jumping all over you like a pack of hounds. I admit - sometimes I take a stab at people when they say something I disagree with but really - can't someone hold their own opinion.

Are you kidding? I have copies of games that came on 3.5 floppies, so basically stuff that's older that you are, and the collection goes all the way up to the present day. I'm all for previewing games, through demos rentals, et cetera, but there's no such thing as a free lunch - just remember the term "tanstaafl," and if you don't recognize that you really need to start reading Robert Heilein. It's also a valid point, as a paying customer I do have the right to complain, and it's a right I intend to keep exercising. As a potential customer I can let them know what my wants are, and if they choose not to meet those wants, I can go somewhere else.

You reinforce behavior that you want to continue, and punish the behavior that you wish to stop - I want games play tested before I buy them, so if there are massive bugs I don't buy the game until it's patched. If the dev took a chance on innovative gameplay, I tend to reward it. In this case the devs created an amazing virtual world, and I would support it but for one glaring flaw that I can't/won't overlook. I'm sure that they won't miss my $50, but then I won't miss their game.

Actually the consoles are always limited to their speced hardware configuration, and can't really be upgraded, not their OS. My two 2900XT's have way more horsepower than a 360 or a PS3, because they are newer by a couple of years of design work. That's why increasing the draw distance in the game for the PC doesn't really impress me. That's just what I would expect given the difference in hardware.

Also the mouse and keyboard allow for considerably more control options than a gamepad, and in these days of USB they should be able to seamlessly integrate several controllers at once. I switch from the wheel to mouse and keyboard in Mafia with no problem, so what's Rockstar's excuse? The only thing that rings true is that they just don't care, and if that's their attitude, I see no reason to reward them with my business.

And at the end of the day, it simply boggles my mind that a game that supposedly uses driving as a main gameplay component doesn't actually have a driving mode. I can't seem to wrap my head around that, especially when it really shouldn't be that much trouble to add support for. I mean how long have the peripheral companies been making driving wheels? Ten years? Fifteen? You'd think that it would be a no brainer - you say that it's not a race game, well have you ever considered that people might be tired of pure race games? I know I just started playing them and I'm already bored with them. On the other hand, cruising along in Vice City or San Andreas with the stereo on and taking in the nighttime neon is a pretty nifty way to kill an hour, an considerably cheaper than doing it in reality in terms of fuel cost.

You have the wrong developer. You're talking about Ubisoft, we're talking about Rockstar. Ubi gives the PC crowd Assassin's Creed with extra content, lack of having to walk up and back down the mountain every single time you finish a job, basically streamlining the teleport system. You see, they were late, but they brought a present. They make it prettier to match the hardware capability and add a polished mouse/keyboard interface because that's just par for the course.

Rockstar essentially gives us the console game that looks a little better and has the attitude that we should be grateful that they even showed up at all.... six months later than the console versions.
