[CP] DX10 to be 30%+ Faster than DX9
Nicklas Modrow of EA also spoke at the same event, saying that forthcoming co-op online RTS BattleForge runs ‘30 per cent faster in DirectX 10 mode than in DirectX 9’. Does this mean the time when DirectX 10 gaming and Vista will take off is finally approaching?
DirectX 10 might not have got off to a great start, with little appreciable difference in image quality for the 50+ per cent frame rate hit, but it seems developers are starting to get their heads around the much-lauded, much-derided gaming API. http://www.custompc.co.uk/news/60283...x-10-only.html |

DX10 DMC4 was quite impressive FPS wise.

That's the whole point of DX10, more efficient so that one can implement nicer effects with less performance penalty.
It's still suffering from the chicken and egg problem, though. There really isn't any point in going to Vista, at least most people see it that way.

DX10 runs faster for me and has even when I had my 2600XT on Catalyst 7.9

...and regardless, I still won't use Vista.
That is unless someone gives me a free copy. I will never pay for it.
