5-6 years puts it at 2013-2014 remember. I think the 360 has another year max. They've hit their peak, so as soon as the next wave of big games come out (Gears 2, FFXIII, Forza 3, Halo Wars to name a few) I think they will at least have nexbox (clever eh?) devkits out. Depending on how far along development is, they could have it out by November 09 at the earliest, but for sure by 2010. Although the lack of appearance at E3 08 points to the latter. I would expect an announcement at next years E3, with a launch date set the following year. The 360 has already hit the $200 mark, and with the PS3 looking like it remain Sony's champion until at least 2012(to match the PS2's lifespan), if MS releases a much faster console using future advances from ATI, and they don't go too overboard, we could see a new console around the $500 mark that will spank the PS3 for at least the next 2 years.
I would absolutely love it if they went completely AMD this time around. With AMDs gamer-centric attitude I'm sure they could whip up a delightful 45nm phenom/RV770 combination at an attractive pricepoint. Although they would have to see what IBM would offer. Things the nexbox must have: -built in WiFi -DX10 graphics -manditory HDD -blu-ray -HDMI out -internal battery to keep date and time ![]() -decent cooling system this time

Personally I think its too early to associate red with Xboxs. They would be better off sticking with green.

It's going to include Larabee and an ATI GPU in one box? I know that Larabee can do general purpose tasks, but is it going to replace a CPU entirely? Seriously...

10.1 yea it's already like that, i don't think arcade versions are for sale anymore again, all have hdmi out, at least the newer ones it does have an internal battery, this isn't the first xbox have this as well, and if it doesn't, it's still free

Haven't countless articles shown that cooling has nothing to do with the RROD and trashy manufacturing was the cause?

The 360 (at least mine) doesn't have an internal battery. My clock resets to November 2005 every time I unplug it. The next 360 should have built in WiFi too. Building it into the system would add like $10 to the cost and do so much for publicity. I can see all of the PS3 fanboys continuously pointing out that the nexbox still doesn't have WiFi, and that that somehow makes the PS3 the better choice. By decent cooling I meant more quite and efficient cooling. Xboxs (even the newer ones) make noise and are still hot. I'm just saying that rather than suck in the sides like they did with the 360 they should instead work on a better cooling system. And the RROD problem was caused by a heat problem. The constant temperature changes caused the solder to crack, thats why the 65nm chips don't have the same problems, because they run cooler. If the 360 had a decent cooling system, and didn't constantly reach 70C+ temperatures then this problem wouldn't have occurred.
