Default [Shacknews] Play Crysis Wars for Free Next Weekend

Publisher Electronic Arts and developer Crytek have announced that gamers will be able to play Crysis Wars (PC) for free between Friday, October 10 and Sunday, October 12. Included in the recent release of Crysis Warhead (PC), Wars represents the newly-debuted multiplayer component of the open-island sci-fi shooting series.

Registration begins Monday, October 6 at MyCrysis.com and will provide users with a unique registration key. Though online play will only be available from October 10-12, players will be able to experience Crysis Wars via LAN across the week of October 6.

"We have been extremely pleased with the reception we have received from gamers and press for Crysis Warhead," said Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli.

Cheating? Yep. Just like what happened when Crysis first arrived. The idiots over at Crytek made 85% of the game settings for multiplayer client-side, so the client can change whatever they want (what your weapon fires, at what rate, and even change the mass of the bullet). Punkbuster can't catch this, because it isn't set up [yet, if ever] to detect these changes. Only way to get busted is to get caught and banned (for uh that round. No perma-ban).

Crysis multiplayer simply sucks, and I'm sure Wars will suck just as bad.

You'd think Crysis Wars would have some kind of RANKING SYSTEM to make it worthwhile. Nope. I was disappointed in it. Fun to play every once and a while.

Crysis Wars is alright, nothing special. The battleground map with tanks/helicopters is fun though.

Enjoy your free weekend

Definitely worth a shot. I really enjoy this, especially versus the original Crysis MP....
