lol Omega i think you need to chill out just a little mate. you're starting to project your opinions on everybody as if they were actual facts and shared by everyone else, and if they dont agree then they are wrong and you are right...which is wrong.

remember that just because you think a game sucked, does NOT mean that it sucks completely. it just means you didnt like it.

i totally agree with what everyone is saying here, in that they are killing the RE tradition. damn right they are, but as someone said, they (capcom) only care about money, and they decided that dumbing the game down to make it more appealing to a wider market would be the wiser money-making move, so they did it.

maybe you can class it as a generic shooter then...but to say most suck is lame. everyone has different tastes and chances are RE5 is gonna be a huge success. it just wont be the Resident Evil we all grew to love. but times change, people change. its evolution. and i think thats what the devs are trying to accomplish here.

Thats what I said - they are dumbing the game down so it appeals to the generic, run of the mill, silly shooters.

There are plenty of generic shooters out there that suck, other then the big named/branded ones (a.k.a - Halo, Crysis, Call of Duty, ect.). They are good because they do new mechanics no one has either played before or are old mechanics just perfected. All the other little shooters (a.k.a Area 51, FEAR Perseus Mandate, Psy Ops, ect.) all suck because they either take old things and don't do jack with them or have a massive ammount of flaws with new mechanics they try to incorporate - hence they never got the spot light anywhere. This is what this is turning out to be, because basically - its looking to be the same as any other shooter we've seen before.

Normally, RE brings to the table things we've never ever seen before in a game or brings about something and generally perfects it (Yahtzee would know what I'm talking about - Quick Time Events ) But, this time around, RE5 looks to be bringing around normal shooting mechanics that have been done 100,000 times over again, and looks to be a bore.

If you bothered to read my last post, I said I could easily be wrong about RE5 sucking and it be a fantastic game. I'm sure it will be, but not something I'd go through 50 different times like I did RE2-4 because its absolutely nothing new aside from the co-op. But even then, the videos that show off the co-op sucks just as bad as Army of Two - which everyone was jumping over heels for 2 years ago, later turned out to be a flop.

Im telling you, unless Capcom is hiding something from everyone that will be nothing you've ever played before - no only are the fans of RE like me, but critics too are gonna eat this game alive because they've managed to murder every other aspect of the game we've come to love. This little typewriter mechanic is only part of the whole picture.
