Not quite - they still operate using the SATA2 protocol, meaning 3Gb/sec transfer. A PCI-E x16 bus can transfer 8Gb/sec under PCI-E 2.0. Seems like a bit of a waste of a slot though - I'd rather stick my graphics card in there tbh

Wouldn't this use the PCIE x1 slot like the Asus sound cards? If not you would have to get a tri-sli or tri-fire mobo and be stuck with only two graphics cards. You could use it, but you would have to plan accordingly. Hopefully by 2010, they will be twice the capacity and half the cost, so that sometime in 2011 I can afford one.
