The way I see it, either he is one of the rare few that get to participate in the closed beta or he is referring to one of the other battletech mods. Either way, this is not out for the general public yet. I Personally will make it very clear when it is.

MWLL Weekly Update X - June 09 /II
MWLL news
Written by AoP
Monday, 15 June 2009

Welcome to June's second and the tenth overall weekly update by the team of the Crysis total conversion modification MECHWARRIOR: LIVING LEGENDS.

Another week, another update - no, not another update, it's issue 10 of the weekly update already. This time, we're bringing to you the fully textured four variants of the Inner Sphere's Raven with a highly anticipated piece of equipment, a look at one of SA_Sandblasted's bases and of course another set of playtest impressions.

Four Variants With Textures: Inner Sphere Raven

From the upper range of the weight spectrum in last week's Mech feature, we're going close to the lower end this week. It's the Raven, one of the Inner Sphere's light Mechs that's being featured. Not only does the screenshot below show the textured version of this quick and agile little guy, it also shows all four variants that'll be playable in the upcoming beta release. You might remember that there have been four variants of the Raven in an earlier 'Advent Calendar' shot - the variants below differ quite a bit from that. Among other things you should notice that one of them is equipped with a flamer: yes, it's working and will be there for you to play with.

Progress Report: SA_Sandblasted

From the rocky realms of SA_Extremity, we're back in the sandy, hot desert of SA_Sandblasted. The screenshot below shows one of the bases which has received a number of buildings and other assets to create a real 'military base' feeling in all pilots when preparing to move into battle.

Playtest Impressions

Again, here are a few pictures from this week's playtest.

While I want to play this so very much, I'm glad they waited on the release. It is looking more and more epic every week. And it does look significantly better than it did around their proposed winter 08 release.

I havn't posted in awhile, got sucked back into EVE! haha but still following this thread and MW:LL with a watchful eye. Playing EVE got me thinking of basically having a battletech/mechwarrior version of sorts. Where you have the Inner Sphere, with controlling factions etc.. Could have space combat like EVE, then once it goes to ground it can be overhead like mechcommander or even simulation. But where its a world wide and real time, where forces are landing with reinforcements etc... would be epic. But that may just be a dream that may never be seen...

It's been two weeks since my last post this time because the update a week ago wasn't much. This week's update is, however, rather impressive. I especially like the underwater and the much more impressive pyramid map. Not that the Mauler isn't impressive (check the battlearmor on the ground in the middle of the pic for scale).

Welcome to June's fourth and the twelfth overall weekly update by the team of the Crysis total conversion modification MECHWARRIOR: LIVING LEGENDS.

June has come to an end and wow, it's been a super-busy and productive week. Huge steps in terms of polishing and stabilising have been taken and we're proud to present to you one of the most extensive weekly updates we've had so far. We'll start out with the textured four variants of the Inner Sphere's Mauler and continue with various impressions from SA_Sandblasted. Again, a number of playtest impressions will conclude this update. We recommend to check them out carefully, because there are yet again exciting things to see: yes, it'll be possible to take certain vehicles under water and even fight there.

Four Variants With Textures: Inner Sphere Mauler

Early in April, we introduced to you this Inner Sphere's assault Mech. Finally, it has received its textures which we are proud to present to you today. For size comparison reasons, there's a Longinus in the screenshot and for reasons of completeness, the variants have been explained again.

Progress Report: SA_Sandblasted

One of the team's most recent additions, Rolke, is more and more turning out to be an invaluable asset when it comes to level art: many of the assets you'll see when playing SA_Sandblasted have been created or at least modified by him, who originally joined as a level designer but has proven his value as an environmental artist. Check out some of the most recent changes to MWLL's desert map on the screenshot and panoramas below.

There comes a point where you quit adding new features and just release a game. The makers of Duke Nukem Forever....for example.

I'd much rather them release this mod in sections than spend another 6-12 months adding things like a giant pyramid and a water mode.

I said this earlier in the thread, there may be a greater chance of humanity creating actual mechs before this gets released.

I don't think so really.. they are talking about the upcoming beta release which I hope is open to the public. They haven't been working on this for 10+ years like Duke, I have faith it will be released! Patience is a virtue.

I agree. I've been following this for some time now, and it looks like it's polished enough for some sort of basic client release. They could add all of these extra features as they go........it's getting to the point of being vaporware in my mind.
