You are all hypocrites. How many times do you plan to install a game anyway? If you can't beat a game in the time you reformat 5 or 6 times because you think it helps 'driver performance' then you need to just switch to consoles and rent games or stop complaining.
I've probably installed CS:S 10+ times between reformats and different computers. How about you stop complaining about us complaining. Well actually it looks like you're the only one complaining.

Competition is good for the marketplace. Props to Microsoft.

Steam4Lyf!

Err... I mean, I'm gonna stick to Steam until I try it out myself. Even then, it'll be hard for me to detach from Steam.

Steam sucked. everyone hated it. with a passion. OMG another program eating up my CPU in the background!

but it's gotten awesome. game updates instantly, after a re-install of windows i can download all (a lot) of steam games at my max speed.

it makes me sad that MS is hogging titles (like with the XBOX) and their downloadable content. of course they can't stop user generated stuff (or can they), but any platform that comes with restrictions like that makes me sad.

and i think MS has enough money to convince game developers to come to the dark side.

some competition is gay. gaaaay.
+1 CS!

I love absolutely everything about Steam. To start with, it was a little slow, but not really that bad. But I figured it would get better, and my God did it get better! The community and friends list implementation, much faster download speeds from their servers (I sometimes get 1.1 or 1.2 mb/sec download speeds from them!), and a great store that often has sales on lots of great games. Plus, I always love to support the best game developer in the world: Valve :P

<3 Steam, and <3 Valve.

The issue is not whether we actually trip said restrictions or not. The issue is that they're there in the first damn place, and enforced by rootkits that require formatting and OS reinstall to remove. Steam doesn't have this, Steam itself is the DRM and I can remove any trace of steam ever being on my computer in all of 10 minutes. Can't do that with the DRM systems that have install limits, it'd be too easy to bypass...

Of course you're a Steam fanboy. You're a total and complete Steam fanboy. Microsoft aren't copying anything. Xbox Live has been selling games through digital distribution for roughly two years. Xbox Live was the first to have an achivements system. Steam copied Microsoft!

You can stick with Steam. "never has done me wrong" Or perhaps you mean "it's never done me any harm" in perfect english. Oh, what a surprise, in the stupid and childish races, Valve happen to be your number one team! Yay! woop woop! Stupid.

Anything MS will do is be "smack" some DRM on there and copy Steam? Hahahahahahahaha! Wake up, mate. Learn something. Steam copied Xbox Live insofar as the Achievements system and it's not so long ago Valve said they were aiming to make Steam the XBL of the PC (which is fine, but it's still a blaitant copy of XBL)

I'm addressing your post because, strangely enough, you cover almost 99% of the "I R LUV STEMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" population. Where you and everyone else think Steam is the best thing since topless titty bars.

Competition to Steam is good. Especially from someone with as much clout as Microsoft. Valve would sell up so fast if MS tried to buy them out.

Are you joking? Are you stroking bill as we speak? Your talkin lots of trash there pal. Copying is part of what makes stuff better. I wasnt talking trash about windows failed live so far so I dont know who your fighting with. Valve will not be bought by them they said they wouldnt nad they are got offers from similar companys. I suggest you learn more about what your bashing before you go talking all this nonsense.

I wonder how nicely it'll play with mods. I don't like how they're really pushing micro transactions to publishers as another source of revenue. just makes me nervous.
