Ok, lets go with your "idea" of what stealing/theft is. How fast do you think these small indies companies would fold with your logic? You honestly think stealing a digital copy is ok?

Just because you're not getting a physical product that doesn't mean that the code you downloaded has no value to it. And just because it's your bandwith you used to download it, that doesn't mean you can take something that the law says you have to pay for to rightfully posess.

Theft: the act of stealing; the wrongful taking and carrying away of the personal goods or property of another; larceny. Stealing: to take (the property of another or others) without permission or right, esp. secretly or by force: A pickpocket stole his watch. Based on that. You are performing theft as your are taking the property of the company, even though it is a number. You are taking their game without their permission and are infringing on copyright laws - that is considered theft. Therefore, piracy is theft.

I'm always amused by futile attempts to justify something that is so blatantly illegal.

Do you honestly believe that anyone sells things at the price they cost to manufacture? Do you think paintings cost millions to make? Do you think processors cost as much as they are sold for to make? No. You are paying for the time of the people who made it, and the ideas they own. That is worth money. A physical object is not the only thing of value. Say you invent a processor that runs at 50GHz and has 20 cores, right now. Are you honestly say you'd manufacture it and sell it at the price it costs to produce? Just because it doesn't cost money for the company to produce a digital copy of the game, you are not paying for the use of their property - it'd be just like taking a movie from a rental store and not paying. Even if you put it back, you have still stolen the value of that rental from them. You didn't pay them. People need an incentive to create stuff. If no one bought anything, why would people bother to produce games and the like?

Hmmm, I just checked Gamespot, IGN, and the score given on Steam. It seems to get about a 9/10, 90%. Which is pretty good if you ask me. I think I'll download the demo on Steam and if it's remotely decent I'll go ahead and buy it.
Sounds fun though. Physics games are often pretty entertaining and addicting.
