If you made something, and someone comes up to you, and goes 'Oh, I don't think that's worth £25'. Then does that mean they can steal it instead? No.

Get the terminology correct, kids. Stealing aims to deprive the owner of whatever it is in question. Piracy does not. This is why illegal downloading is piracy and not theft, whilst sales are theft.

I hate it when people call it stealing. they're wrong, by the very definition of the word.

As I said, this is semantics. It's depriving the owner of the money they deserve for that item. There is no (relevant) difference between walking into a shop and taking a DVD and downloading a copy of a DVD.
We are not talking about exact terminology here, we are talking about the end results. If you can't see that, you are short-sighted.

walking into a dvd store and stealing from the shop is then not stealing from the developer.................its stealing from the shop...as the shop has already paid for the dvd....................soo by your definition , it will harm developers less if we steal a hard copy from the shop??

The "try it before I buy it" pirates make sense to me in a way. While I don't do it and I don't agree with it, I can see from your point of view and how you don't want to waste 50 bucks on a mainstream game that doesn't have a demo and you end up wasting your money because you don't like it. It's the cheap ass pirates that would never buy it in the first place that tick me off. But there is a free demo for this one, no reason to pirate it now.
