Guys, copyright infringement is a more 'specified' word for stealing.

Grand Theft Auto = stealing cars

Piracy = stealing digital intellectual material.

So, to those of you who are trying to argue about the name, please, that's absurd.

is that stealing?.............I have made my very own operating system , and I have named it the above....

no , it is not stealing , but it is copyright infringement....the windows name is registered and belongs to Microsoft................


now , that is the same with piracy ...............the digital content of the game belongs to whoever owns the rights to it (not to whoever made or developed it)

Well, as a fantasy writer, I think I'm going to go work on a new story.

Let's call it Lord of the Rings.

See, there is this character named Frodo who goes to destroy a powerful ring that just happens to fall into his hands. He walks to the other end of the world to destroy it, and in the end, he fails--though the ring is destroyed anyways.

I'm not going to argue over the morality of piracy. I'm not saying what any of you did is right or wrong. I'm not arguing that piracy is inherently 'evil' (I hate that word). I'm just stating the fact that you are TAKING something without permission. (Forking over the money counts as permission.)

A little off topic: A few of my friends have tried to make me just replace a characters name with like Aragorn or Gandalf 'accidentally' every once in a while. I think it would be fun.

Oh, it's not completely different. It's still intellectual property that's being lifted.

i usually dont comment on piracy issues because i have mixed feelings over it.. but seriously.. this game was only $20.
