You can say the exact thing about people who are pro-piracy. All they post is flawed logic and analogies, same with the anti-pirates. The fact remains that it's taking something which costs money, without paying for it. If that's not stealing, then what IS stealing?

I honestly can't believe anyone would try to say piracy isn't stealing, and I can't believe anyone would say stealing is okay. If you want to steal, that's your prerogative, I'll stay out of your business, but please. Don't pretend what you're doing isn't stealing.

YAY more analogies:

I don't care if some dude has so much money that he burns cash in his fireplace to keep warm. I don't care if that guy has an infinite supply of food, that literally can't run out. If he wants to charge people for that food, he can, because it's his food which he owns. Who cares if it wouldn't hurt him to steal it, it's still his right to charge for it, and taking it without his permission is still wrong.

Seems like the true colors of the majority of pirates are showing through.

Piracy is stealing, regardless of the excuse and/or circumstances. Anyone who knowingly pirates ANYTHING should realize that, or else they're simply in denial.

Also, pirating this game for the "I want to see if I like it before I buy it" reason is also completely invalid as it has a demo.

I don't understand how this is such a personal matter to some people that they simply cannot help themselves from coming here and insulting others, acting all righteous and generally being thick headed about the whole thing.

Some of you have taken piracy to a lever comparable to global warming or the global financial crisis.

Also when you talk about it you reiterate the same stupid arguments ("Piracy is stealing, piracy is stealing, ....") make horrible analogies ("Pirating a game is JUST like stealing a car") and try to deny anybody else the right to an opinion ("I don't want to hear about it, piracy is stealing."). When you are prov-en wrong you simply ignore the post or go back to one of the things mentioned above.

Honestly I get the impression that all or at least most of you so called anti-pirates are doing this because it's a new trend and it's cool to be in the anti-pirates team. And you don't expect to win by providing correct arguments but by simply reiterating the same flawed ones over and over again hoping that you'd wear the opposition down.

But what you're really doing is making a mess out of this forum so I suggest you stop posting so much or come up with better arguments -preferably both.

Lets see you come up with a valid argument. The above quoted post you made is ignorant.

"I don't have a problem. I can stop any time I want to." Yes, even addicts think their excuses make sense.

Well, read most of this and it is the same old story. pirates using every possible reason to justify it and anti-pirates trying hard as hell to make sense of their logic. I would really love to see a cross-section of these people irl. How many are under/over 13?15?18?30? How many have full time jobs and support themselves? How many make any kind of living off anything they themselves have created? How many rely exclusively on others for survival? How many hold the door for the person behind them?

It seems that the common thread among piracy advocates is nit-picking the laws and trying to find loopholes for their arguments. It is almost always wo-is-me, too expensive, too greedy, too crappy, too easy etc. etc. I find these same excuses in other parts of society. Mostly in people that like to blame others and pass off responsabilty and always have one reason or another why something is owed to them or that something is not their fault. Why is this? What about people in today's society always feel that they are inherently given the right to something?

It is the same old arguments over and over. Most of you know how I feel on the matter and if you didn't, I am sure you can glean that from this post. I just want all the pirates to remembers that you are all hurting yourselves. Once there are no more decent games on PC and once they cost $150 ea. to cover all the anti-everything measures, maybe then you'll all be happy you saved that $20/$50/$75 or w/e.

edit: Oh, an Porky, you have a system that costs much, much more than average (even on OCN) and you claim you couldn't find a way to buy a $20 game? I assume you bought all your HW with cash?

LOL... make use of DRM. You want to try and ride your high horse? Release a good game and expect people to pay for it when it's easily accessible for free? Wrong. FAIL. DRM is needed and there is a reason why it's being used. Those developers are no better than any others, a bit more creative, yes, but they need to get their act together and learn to protect their innovations and ensure they get the money that they deserve.

Thanks for making a free game... douches.

I don't know if you've noticed, but games with DRM are also freely accessible on the internet.
