I used to pirate almost exclusively, and I didn't feel bad about it because I had no money and literally couldn't get a job, since I lived a good two hours from anywhere and didn't have a car. But now that I'm in university and have a job I will actually pay for my games. I just bought Civ 4 on steam last week, even though I have a burned cd with a cracked version on it.

My point still stands though, I couldn't buy anything online until I was 18, and there are many other people in the same boat. The whole "get a part time job" excuse doesn't cut it, because who in their right mind is going to devote dozens of hours of their time, going completely out of their way to get a job, then jumping through a hoop to get a prepaid visa, which comes with all kinds of charges and monthly fees, if their parents even allow it, if its even available in their region, just to get a game.

They should never have released a standalone version, and by making is DRM free they obviously knew this was going to happen. If they had just left it on Steam and the Wii thing then they would probably have made more money.

No your point is moot. A VISA GIFT CARD HAS NO CHARGES. You just go, pay for it, and it acts like a debit card.

And you must have a crappy debit card then. But then again, just use a visa gift card. Works fine online, and like I said, has no charges.

Basically, stop trying to act like your some sort of helpless victim. Your a theif, plain and simple, and refuse to acknowledge it.

1. I didn't download this game.
2. I buy my games when I can. The only game I'm playing right now that I didn't buy is Fallout 3, because I spent my game budget on that POS Far Cry 2. I'm going to buy it when I can, or ask for it for Christmas.

Maybe its just in the US where you can get a prepaid Visa with no fees, but I considered getting one for my cousin for his birthday, because hes one of those people I mentioned. I looked on the fine print on the back of the card and there was both an activation fee and a monthy charge.

Umm.. Your not getting a Visa gift card then. Because its not reloadable, so they shouldnt charge you a monthly fee considering the money can run out. Activation fee I dont know about, but.. omg, $1 for activation.. Seriously...

They even have a demo ffs. It's only 39Mb. The demo is on Steam if you're curious.

Seriously, pirating games from big companies such as EA. Fair enough, they are massive and probably won't miss your £30, but if you get caught you could get screwed over.

Pirating a game which costs £10 made by 2 guys in their spare time is just pathetic. They even said they are not putting DRM on the game because they desipise it.

Now 90% piracy rate for a small game like this which costs nothing is retarded, and you wonder why games have DRM on them.

Why in the hell would you want to pirate a game made by two developers, two! These guys put their heart and soul into the game and some jerk that does not feel like paying $19.99 rips it off? $19.95!? Karma is a *****. If I was the developer I'd seed the torrents with some nasties just to make them pay for it. What a f-ed up world. No wonder our government can get away with anything now days. As much as they are rotten, the people directly or indirectly justify their behavior by doing things like these.

Bah, this makes me so mad! It almost makes me want to support use of DRM wholeheartedly.
