What if the new class is a sentry gun? You take first person control of it! Engies can repair you, and in the beginning of the game you're allowed to run around and place yourself up. Then its up to you to shoot, etc

Yea, something like that. Maybe you can have a feature where you team with an engineer, and the engi can pack you up. If you die though, the engi looses points.
