Like I said - Sony makes you register your PS3 onto an account. I could be completely wrong - but these numbers could be based on the number of accounts with a PS3. I doubt their stupid enough to not realize there could be massive account spammage. Then again, there could be massive account spammage on XBL Silver too.

So 14 million of the 16 million PS3's sold have internet access, big deal. What is supposed to impress me again? How about the fact over 14 million of the 18 million 360's sold have people currently paying for XBL. That's impressive.

Um - what? What exactly is the different? LoL

If its the fact that the 360 sold 2 million more, you're forgetting the 360 has also been out 1 year longer then the PS3. If you go by 2 year sales to 2 year sales - the PS3 has outsold the 360.

If its the difference between how many users use XBL, then you need to brush up on math because 4 million is larger then 2 million. Meaning that the PS3 has more users online (only 2 million missing) then the 360 (4 million missing) if you compare to the total number of people not online.

since its free, it seems pretty logical to sign up once you get the system. Whether most of the people use it is another question. 14 million users would mean somewhere around 0.8 accounts for each ps3.

I agree - that was the most fail post I've seen in awhile. I just don't see the logic to it lol. I mean, there are other posts lately that just don't make sense to me, but I can kinda get a sense of where they may be coming from.

Which is why I said '...had they distinguished the criteria more definitively.' We don't know if they're taking into consideration the fact that you can have multiple accounts with the PS3 to access other content or are they going by the master accounts only, which you can still have multiples on one PS3.

Having multiple XBL silver accounts would be pointless because you can't have access to other Live regions, each 360 is region locked. The only benefit of a SINGLE person having a Gold + Silver account on one console is so that you can play online co-op with a friend locally.

So with that said, you can already determine that there are a lot more people playing XBL than PSN individually.
