You dont need to pay for clubs only premium ones.

And it's not a myth. I know several people in the beta. Home has been played by 100s of people already over the past year.

im having a hard time with this so maybe someone can explain it better to me.... Why on earth do i want home? and for god sake why would i want to pay money < a scarce resource, on a "CLUB HOUSE"!!! This is dumb and now im mad at life! What, am I to drop some X and shake my rear while some little john plays in the background or are we talking about a no girls allowed lets play with sling shots this is not the 50's any more club? Either one sounds pointless. I just want to blow stuff up and make some monster head shots. Thats it. if i want to play sims ill buy the game.

Great, thanks sony!

wow dude, pass the dutchie on the left hand side...

Home is basically like connecting to the PSN, or more accurately Xbox Live, only instead it is not text based, you are actually a free roaming 3rd person viewable character.

from what i understand, you have your own Home room or link where people can see your achievements or how you are doing, including Trophies and its a place to meet your friends online and go into a chat room or a Games room, where you can jump in on an already running server. Like Steam Friends, where you can right click on a friend playing a game and select Join Game, which will take you directly to the server your mates are on.

the point of clubs would sort of be like forums for this world im guessing. since its not text based it wouldnt be a forum so they call it a club. users can go into these clubs and find their mates and go online, join games, whatever.

Sony are saying they will be charging for Premium clubs. whatever that means and whatever they actually do, i have no idea.

so far everything else Home is completely free.

Best explanation I've heard so far for Home... should set some of these clueless people straight. +rep

I think the clubs are a cool idea, nice place for a clan or even just a group of friends from school or something to meet up at. Not sure what the difference between regular and premium clubs are though.

Downloaded it earlier today. I'm glad they took out the PSP, the new menu system is very nice.

Played? I don't really consider it a "game". More of a tool.

Although this feature is free to beta testers, it will be a paid service when Home rolls out to the public.

So much for Home being free.

guys...please read carefully and remember...

Home, is FREE. the Club Premium Service, an OPTIONAL feature within Home, is a PAID SERVICE.

what other paid services will there be? who knows, its Sony.

what other free services will there be? Well so far besides Premium Clubs, everything.

it will become much clearer once we determine the difference between Premium and Regular Clubs. hell, it might even end up being worth it anyway, who knows.
