Are you referring to the /3GB switch? I have that in my boot.ini and it still crashes. I'm not ready to upgrade to 64 bit since i have no need for it. Everything I have runs perfect and I don't need the hassle of reformating at this moment.

You could run a second partition with ~40 gb if you wanted.

Yes, I was talking about the 3gb switch. It used to crash on me at the beginning, when you go through the door and there's a loading zone (locked door on left, staircase ahead). Using the switch, I could get past, but whenever there was a gunship, it was unbearably choppy, and when you fought your way out of the combine nexus, it would constantly decide to dump all the textures for no apparent reason (this can be fixed by quicksaving and quickloading btw)

I was of the same mindset about 64 bit, but I wanted to play CM flluidly so badly I just got it. Don't be worried about driver issues on vista x64, those issues are long gone. If you make a small partition for the 64 bit os you can just boot it when you feel like playing CM, and use the other one when you don't. That's what I did, but I never ended up actually going back to 32, just loaded whatever I needed from the 32 partition while being in 64.

wow, I ramble..

I've found only one solution and thats to turn the gfx down to medium but then thers no point in playin with average settings when i know my system can handle maximum.
I have xp 32bit and i've heard its only optimized for 64 bit OS. So i guess until the next patch arrives i cant even play
32bit OSs are silly this day and age. Go get Windows 7 64bit and see how it runs. Report back with your results!

or you can get Vista x64 or XP x64 (no longer supported by MS) for $$$.

and i've always wanted to try windows 7 so this might be a good incentive to try it out

so any problems with dual boot ? i've done it on an old laptop once with linux and everything was ok but I just want to make sure I don't mess up my current partition.

Is anybody else running CM9.5? I get this weird sky flashing issue on it. Brand new vistax64 install, stock clocks for everything in my computer case. I have the HD addon and 9.51 update.
