Going deeper down the fox hole (yes, it's called a mixed metaphor), Infinity Ward checked specific data on certain levels:

* 71.1%, or 7,111,508 people have completed F.N.G.
* 68.8%, or 6,886,509 people have completed Cargo Ship.
* 46.5%, or 5,654,643 people have beaten the game on any difficulty.
* 2.8%, or 283,632 people have completed Airplane on Veteran difficulty.

Comparatively, pulling the multiplayer numbers from PSN revealed 4,381,276 unique users. Now we just want to know how many tries it took that 2.8% to complete Airplane on Veteran.

I'm surprised at these, honestly. Less than half of the people finished the game? The seat thing only takes like 6-7 hours to finish, and it's been out for over a year! I finished it the day I got it.

on Veteran I believe the stats above are for.
Not to mention, lately - no one gives a rat's rear for the singleplayer anymore. And sadly devs are realizing this. It's sad.

Wow 2.8% and I'm apart of that. I got that achievement and I'm gonna say that was pretty hard. Took me about 5 hours straight to do it.

It took me awhile too (on the PC) but I hard more difficulty to be honest with the ending of the Chernobyl mission. Getting him on that stupid helicopter was the most annoying thing I've ever done in a video game EVER.

Call of Duty 4 hits over 14 million players

I just hated how you had to get there in a certain amount of time, only to have to wait for it to come.

And you know what the worst part is? Pointing the gun at the last guy, and not being able to take the shot with 2 seconds left on the timer. It is the most frustrating and hair pulling thing ......
