Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced its popular Metal Gear Solid series will appear on Xbox 360®, with the advent of Metal Gear Solid: Rising for the format – the first Metal Gear Solid game to launch on this next generation console.

The game is being developed by series creators Kojima Productions, and although details are currently under wraps, they have revealed that Metal Gear Solid: Rising stars Raiden – one of the most popular characters within the MGS universe. Raiden made his debut as a playable character in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and appeared as a non-playable cyborg in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PLAYSTATION®3.

Well, its a little early for a sequel no? The game only came out what... last October? They're saying November release. Thats almost a little more then a year. Not to mention, we only JUST got the SDK for L4D. Custom maps and stuff are just barely making its way on the scene and Valve is not letting the modding community breathe especially with all this console party system crap. That's the way I see it.

Not to mention, Valve has promised more weapons/levels/enemies for the original L4D. Did they just scrap it or what?

Not that I'm saying this doesn't look cool. But would it not just be easier to try and incorporate the chainsaw stuff and what not into the original? And then release an optional expansion pack for the new characters and stuff? Why a whole new game for pretty much the same content?

Wow the game looks like some crappy L4D mod, the character voices suck, the character models also suck, and the maps suck even more. Im definitely not paying another 50 bucks to play this crap.

It didn't state anywhere that Hideo Kojima would be directing it, without him I feel this would be a flop. I wonder how much M$ paid for this exclusive deal.

They just finished L4D a month ago. The gameplay videos look decent, a decent modder can come up with that amount of content in due time.

Hopefully the game is actually finished and has more gameplay and maps this time around.

I'm really not trying to be a jerk...but why does there have to be ONE thread for ALL the news coming out of E3?

It's impossible to have any sort of coherent and focused discussion if you've got people talking about 20 different things at once. And it defeats the purpose of the forum in general.
