well, it's my impression that he's just viewing video games as one fragment of a sedentary lifestyle. i don't think he's going to single them out or anything - the point is for people to get more physical activity.

hmm i played for 8 hours Saturday, but in that same span of time, I did over 200 crunches/situp. 100 pushups and stretched, a little ddr in there as well =P

There's really little to no loss here, this thread was never destined to survive the night.

For some, it is inherently a political issue. It's one thing if some random guy says 'hey, stop spending so much time at the computer/console, it's unhealthy' - it's another thing if the man who wants to nationalize health care (and hence get the government DIRECTLY involved in everybody's health) starts talking about it.

It's just the way government works - next to 'Are you a smoker?' on your health insurance form, you'll have 'Do you play video games?' - and it doesn't matter if you smoke 1 cig a day, or play a game 30 minutes a day - you're lumped into the same 'risk' category as 2 packs a day or 16 hours a day gaming.

Really, this is a political issue. So it'll be going bye-bye.
