Maybe the idea of a female gamer still appeals to people, sick, sick people.

Taking advantage of the way technology can reach accross a broad span of people (from those who create it for those who may not understand all that goes into it but still enjoy it) I don't think necessarily means it is "dumbed down".

You may not know all there is to cooking, so you make a meal from a box.

It's called "interests" and people can have them or choose not to in whatever they want.
