I see where omega is coming from, going off the games, the movies suck, but going off the movies, they were indeed heading to alaska at the end of the last one.
I was looking through the thread to see if anyone else had noticed it. It's weird, though, I didn't give it a second thought due to some... less reputable boards I frequent.

Also, she is one of the few people where I will watch anything she is in

The first one was alright... I thought the second one was good. Third was meh. You have to just separate the movies from the game. That's probably why everyone thinks videogame movies suck... they try and compare it to the game, which is a completely different medium.

Just completely ignore the title and what you get is a completely average but fairly enjoyable zombie movie, which is ok with me.

Also, Milla Jovovich is hot.

It would be tragic to have her replaced by someone worse.

I think everyone is ignoring something here. Game producers and movie producers do not exist in the same world. They in fact exist in separate dimensions (parallel universes, if you will), and their ideas leak over to our world. This causes the phenomenon of completely different movie and game. The reason movie adaptations of games are so horrible is because our own world tries to create it themselves, which results in utter failure due to the lack of creativity in our world.
Now, that said, just think of the movie as having the same origins as the game, but it explores a "what if" of Milla's character. No further explanation is necessary. (btw, movies do suck.)

you say that like shaving your balls is a bad thing? its called regular grooming i do it all the time.

on topic - i dunno bout you guys all sooking over this, im up for it. i love the RE movies. i dont really care that they are called RE, they have the same general story, it just goes off on a wild unrelated tangent.

but thats cool, as action zombie movies they are pretty awesome. ill be seeing this one for sure. i dont buy into the whole "im a fan of the REAL deal so i refuse to watch something that doesnt relate" ... you miss out on things that way.
