Default [gg]Battlefield 1943 Next Week on Consoles ; New Trailer

Quote:
Gear up soldier! Battlefield 1943 comes to the consoles next week on July 8th for the Xbox 360 and July 9th for the PS3.. PC gamers will eventually get the game too, but don't expect it for awhile.

Available for $15, you'll get 3 maps and access to 4 maps, one of which will be unlocked after a total of over 43 million community kills have been made. The game will allow up to 24-player action with the maps you once and probably still love such as Wake Island.

Infact, Battlefield 1943 has a new trailer - Welcome to Guadalcanal!

Translation, this is a crappy console game that will have an even crappier PC port. I'm so Fing pissed at this trend. It used to be that great games came out on the pc, then would be ported to consoles, and for the most part this worked. But any game that is built for consoles that is ported to the PC FREKIN SUCKS!

I thought the whole reason it's being delayed for PC is so they can make it right for PC? Like so it won't just be a port of the game. When the game was announced, based on interviews EA/DICE heard it loud and clear that the PC gamers weren't happy about the sound of the game being a port. It was shortly after that they announced the PC version would be delayed a few months after the launch on consoles. It was my understanding they were delaying it to make it so it wasn't a straight console port. I think there is a serious chance they may allow more players than 24 on the PC (like 64?).

Why the hell aren't we getting it on PC at the same time? This is so gay and such a stupid marketing move from EA, release the game when school starts again... great they can shove the 43 million kills up their *** without PC gamers support.

Dude i feel you, But its all about the $$$

Consoles have a much bigger market and make way more money, than on the PC. Just wait for BF3, EA/DICE hired BF2 mod teams to help with it. It be awesome!

My guess is that they will "reach" 43 million kills quite quickly. However, itll be used as a marketing tool to say "look at how many play this game! omgbbq!".

I have a feeling this is going to blow up in their face.

You just cant get away with releasing 4 maps anymore for a game. (15 bucks tho....)

For the money this game really isn't that bad. I mean think about it, most map packs don't offer up anymore than this game is and they're usually only $5 cheaper. I rather pay $15 for this game opposed to $10-15 for an arcade game that usually doesn't deliver. I can't decide whether I want to purchase this for the console or whether I want to wait and get it for PC. I would really like to play with 63 other people online instead of just 23 but I really don't feel like waiting a few extra months.
