Seriously though, I'm buying L4D2... not happy that they didn't release more (see TF2) but whatever
I don't blame Valve for not following the TF2 update strategy. I'm sure they would have made more money for releasing it in paid DLC...I would have paid for all the content that has been released for that game. In fact, I think TF2 has the most DLC any game has ever gotten..I don't think people should expect this with new games (L4D or otherwise)

I expect it when I'm promised it. Hence why I'm not believing anything Valve says in relation to DLC.

I'm sorry, when exactly did Valve go back on their word?

Oh right, they didn't. You just presumed they would due to the fact that they announced L4D2, and now won't believe them about anything.

Right. That's a completely valid reason.

Considering the L4D2 boycott was a bunch of people jumping to conclusions in the first place, when they have no reason to not believe Valve, I think it's perfectly valid to say the boycott is proven further wrong by this.

I believe the boycott will not be proven wrong until Valve delivers the things they said they would (weapons, characters, etc). Let's not turn this thread into one giant L4D2 boycott flames like previous threads. I believe the people saying the boycott people are wrong are just as wrong, we have NO information on what this DLC will contain so until we get the information, everybody should just go back to the way they were before this announcement. But every person that owns L4D should just hope for the best and just be excited that they are delivering more content to us.

But why don't you believe they will? Valve have a history of doing so, and the only reason people are not believing them is that they released L4D2, and people presumed.

I am just skeptical that is all. For me, L4D was a huge let down, and I really hope they will deliver on this next DLC, and if they don't, I will lose all hope in L4D and I won't be buying L4D2. But hey, if they do deliver, it will renew my faith in the franchise.

Exactly! If Valve delivers the new characters, campaigns, weapons and SI Gabe said we would get then it is right as rain. If not then valve has turned into EA, unfortunately.

People defend them too.

I'm curious, when did Valve say we would definitely get new maps, characters, and weapons? I've seen numerous video interviews from people at Valve, and they all say that they would possibly and or probably release new content for the game, which they have in the form of the survival pack. I've seen nowhere where they say they would 100% release other stuff.

I mean, I very well could be wrong, but I've seen nothing where they 100% confirm that they were going to release new maps, characters, and weapons.

Are you kidding, EA? Lets be serious here. This is what really gets on my nerves. Valve has treated us gamers VERY VERY well over the years, and then, just because they release a sequel a year after the first, that makes them EA? Wow...

They use the worlds will. Will implys the 100% and seals the promise. If it wasn't 100% then valve needs to choose their words better during interviews.
