BTW I really hope to be proven wrong. I own about every Valve game made, so they are one of my favorite gaming companies. One of the few companies I buy games from at release. I knew/know they will make the game right, even if there are issues early. That's why I feel so let down by this. I know they are in business to make money but they were and providing some of the best customer service out there, IMO.

VALVe will win because they're getting paid for their work
The players will win because they get new content
Those of us who bought L4D won't feel totally ripped off
Trust for VALVe will be reinstated

That makes sense to me. Bundle them together for a discount of course (butnot quite enough to piss off the L4D people lol0

I'm surprised to see such backlash against such a great company though, honestly.

I'm so mad I had to pay for Supreme Commander: forged Alliance. I'm asking for my money back! I paid for the first one why isn't the second one with vastly more content and size but similar game play on the same engine free?!?!?! It can't have possibly cost ANY money to develop that program!!! Why should I have to pay for it!??

I mean once you write a game engine the sequels just write themselves automagically without developers or anything.

I seriously want to find some of these people and go to their work and stand around asking for things for free and rationalizing that because I bought one thing I should own the store and stand around outside with boycott signs until the cops drag me away.

The only result I see this boycott having is Valve and Gabe will no longer hold press conferences until the last possible moment. I love how they've gone from the darling company of gamers all over to evil incarnate because they needed to sell this instead of give it away.

how sad would you be if they put themselves out of business entirely just to please the vocal minority's addiction to free?

I don't feel gypped (yeah, nice and politically correct) on L4D1, seeing as I got hundreds of hours of gameplay out of it.

I do have a sour taste in my mouth about the DLC and SDk, so I support a lot of what the boycott stands for. However, I will get L4D2. It'll just be on a discount weekend and not on opening weekend.

Anyways I agree with you man a lot of people aren't going to buy this on opening day or weekend for that matter. Which probably is going to mean a lot of money lost on the PC version, but regardless this is going to sell on console like crazy.
