When the PS3 came out, Sony said it was going to be expensive, and knew that if people wanted to get one they would find a way.

The PS3 is not overpriced... , an apple computer is overpriced. The Wii is over priced.

The PS3 is just expensive.

The consumer decides how much he/she is willing to pay and does not care whether Sony is making a profit or a loss on the console. $699 AUD is too high for the console when you can get an XBOX 360 for $349.

"Overpriced" is a term that is coined by the consumer, not by the company or the producer.

$299? I was curious and I couldn't find any new PS3s for that much. Cheapest I found off ebgames with quick search on new PS3s was $399.

Overall though I own a PS3, I still think the PS3s foully was a combination of things not only price, but games as well. Oh well I'm surprised they aren't pulling a sega and going full software lol jk.

case, mouse/keyboard, psu???


i mean seriously, you cant build a rig that tould play games like that and have all the aditional features,

the PS3 is worth the money, people should just get their shhtz right, either you can afford it or you cant, dont sit there criticising sony hoping they will put the prices down...

i think the ps3 price it average really,

some games could be cheaper, but then again thats what we have ebay for lol

uhhhh....the customer has the last and most important say. It's overpriced if the people putting your food on the table say it is.

or maybe....its just too expensive but appropriately priced for sony to start recouping their losses?

It's not overpriced. It's jsut expensive. People think it's as good as the 360 and should be priced accordingly. But it's not and shouldn't.

"Recent" is a relative term. If you think about the time elapsed since the dinosaurs went extinct (millions of years ago), then 2006 is actually quite recent.

Overpriced is an opinion. It does more than other consoles can do, and if one was to outfit those other consoles to match the usability, the overall cost would be higher than a PS3.

Sony made the mistake of releasing a $400 video game console. They should have released a $200 console, a $100 blu ray drive, and a $100 HDD.
