Well after digging themselves into a deep hole because of how much money they were losing, they can't just drop prices now, even if they were able to cut production costs. They need to recoup some of that money. Whether people like it or not, its business, not a charity.

False, those reports are 3 years old. Prices for PS3 components have dropped significantly since then. Can't rely on a report that still charges $600 for 60GB PS3.

I don't know why people on a overclocking forum whines about PS3 being overpriced when many of the things we do here is no where near being economically sound.

I think the PS3 is actually a great deal. I sold mine because the game selection sucks for my tastes, and the console fails at graphics and DLC support in games such as Fallout 3 when compared to PC and Xbox 360.

A bigger problem for the PS3 than the price is that the 360 has better games. I own a nice gaming pc and a 360 elite and I can afford a PS3...but I dont own one....why? Because games on pc and 360 are better than anything the PS3 has to offer.

I think the price is fine it is a little high, but look at the cost of a blu ray player, not only do you get that but you get a good console, game selection wise, most the stuff for pc is on the xbox, that's is why I opted for the ps3, plus I don't like the idea of paying just to be able to play online with other ppl, that is just ridiculous.
