Sony will be the last group of people to understand that their console is overpriced, and they should have been the first.

It's very easy for Activision to call for this, amongst others, but they're not the ones losing money on every console sold.

In fact, they're not even losing money. They're just not making as much as they think they could.

Which is what makes this disgracful. Activision can get the hell out if that's their attitude. Pretty sick of seeing this article now.

Like I said, it's easy for them to call for a cut when they're not Sony, they're not losing money on every console sold.

They KNOW that their console is overprice. There's just nothing they can do about it. The hardware costs too much currently.

I agree.
I dont blame Sony for not putting the price down as they are loosing money.

With the rumours of the PS3 Slim, we may see a price drop for the "PS3 thick". I read somewhere that hardware prices have dropped but I dopubt they have dropped enough to make Sony gain profit.

I don't care if they're losing money, that is their own problem, and it doesn't change the fact that their console is too expensive for the majority of people.

If Sony's excuse is that they're losing money on consoles, and at the same time most of their customers are saying the PS3 is too expensive, then it seems the obvious answer is that they made a console with a sum of parts and labor that is just too expensive.

Its not overpriced. Sure, Sony, Activision, and all consumers wish it was lower, but it can't be. Its sad to think they should have gone the Xbox route and released a barebones console and sold addons, but look how much trouble the 360 is beginning to have with some of their consoles not even having hard drives.

Only the core edition comes without a HD, and even then it atleast comes with a memory card.

Wrong! Go back to the Article and read it again those prices were as of MARCH 2006 for the PS3 right now it would take them alot less money to manufacture especially since they have cut production costs.
