Yeah cause most of them don't even know what a game looks like or let alone the content of the game. They are uneducated really. Its only a matter of time, when they stop it. I got fallout 3 through customs LOL...It even said passed customs I was laughing my ass off.

You know what a LOT of the major gaming websites will be banned too. I hope not OCN

i am not going to talk about politics to you since its banned here at OCN, and would like it if everyone would hold back their nerd rage, and not blindly bash governments, otherwise this thread will get closed, seems to happen every time someone mentions something about a government that's not to great, maybe admins should just ban these kinds of threads since they turn into racism talk eventually or bashing of governments, immature people
The Australian government is pretty much babysitting their citizens. I wouldn't have to live there to be able to state an opinion saying that is wrong (in my opinion of course).

I fail to see the logic where a 30 year old couldn't play God of War 3 because it isn't rated for a 14 year old to play. Please explain it to me.

If I were a parent, I'd rather be deciding what video games my kids can and cannot play, not letting the government do it for me, especially because big brother seems to usually have his head way up his ***.

Finally, I assume that the Australian government is banning all violent movies as well. Possibly also any pictures, art, and music that portrays violence as well...?

Anyway, the Australian government can do whatever they want. I just feel bad for people that live there and aren't able to play perfectly good video games.

Sounds like Australia is trying to turn itself into a Utopia. How's the crime rate there? Regardless lots of folks are going to be missing out there.

Right, but I hope nobody is going to brashly attribute this to America's freedom of media...

I find it funny, they should realise this is only going to push people to import it, yet they say "Buy In Australia! Keep our money in our economy to stop it from falling!"

This is exactly why I'm moving from Australia asap, our internet and ratings board sucks.

there was a big uproar about this kind of thing when a court banned a tv series from being telecast in a state as it would contaminate the jury pool on a case it was hearing.

all the academics/people basically said "it'll be on the internet in a matter of hours, you're wasting your time"

eventually things will get sorted. but it will take a fair bit of bureaucratic/political BS/time for it to happen.
