Good thing they skipped 10. It was a bad number anyway.

..I cant believe they made and sold hardware for something that wont practically be used. 8, 9 were around for awhile. 10 is gone in a month, 10.1 comes along with 11 already. Its a complete joke.

If this graphics API update can be utilized as much as the hype would have us believe, this will be a huge advantage for PC gaming over consoles. Graphics are already significantly better on the PC, but not enough to where the casual gamer is going to care. If PC games can be that much better in realism than console games then I would expect to see more developers taking advantage of this, equating to more publicity for PC gaming, and in turn more PC games to take advantage of the increased popularity. Or so I hope.

Edit: The thing that gives that picture away as computer generated is the hair. I'm sure if the face were visible it'd be the same. Human skin and hair are very difficult to replicate it would seem, and no one has done it even close to flawlessly in any game that I've ever played.

Sounds like a good deal. I just don't posess the funds for new graphics cards. I'm still thinking of getting an i5 instead because the CPU's are being outdated so fast... DX11 is backwards compatible right?

What happens when we reach photo-realism?

As for the article, this has happend right from space invaders, slowly we have been advancing towards photo-realism.
